- cameldrv 6y agoThat's true, but it probably would have been under air attack. Rail and Autobahns would have been cut, and other logistics nodes bombed. Effective Soviet air defense probably would not extend to high altitude, because those systems are too few, without enough mobility to survive very long. This would probably have led to the Soviets using nuclear weapons on Western air bases, which would then have escalated.
