I believe this overlaps with basic general problem solving. My observation is that many adults are paralyzed by the risk of revealing their lack of skill or knowledge, and therefore avoid situations where they will visibly fail, speak in error, etc. In business meetings, often this necessary “basic questioner” role is left to the “smartest person in the room” who isn’t worried about being seen as deficient because they know they are not.
