This is a bit sad to read. I mainly use Dokku but having tried Flynn I think they had something great going on. Ultimately I reverted back to Dokku because I had to modify my application to fit Flynn's deployment style (no automatic redirection from http to https for example).
Of all the open source PaaS that mimic Heroku to a certain degree, I stick to Dokku because I can always fall back to Heroku with minimal app rewrite since I use buildpacks. This might not be an issue if you deploy with DockerFiles though.
