Uh, is this hyperbole?
- bsder 6y agoProbably depends upon how expensive Uber is. If you are spending $500/month on Uber, buying the car is probably cheaper. In my part of the world, that's only about 10 rides. I could see that.
- InvaderFizz 6y agoDepends on your usage pattern. My wife's Uber usage in 2019 was financially a wash versus getting a $20k car, insurance, and gas. Uber has the advantage of not needing to find parking downtown and my wife hates driving.
- berryjerry 6y agoDepends how much is being ordered. Some people live off of delivered food now. 3 meals a day at probably a minimum of $10 per order in delivery or 'surcharges', same thing. That's 900 a month.
- tracer4201 6y agoIn my area, Uber is $7-10 to go within a mile or two. A 17 minute trip to the office is $28 one way, or $56 round trip. If I use Uber 5 times to get to the office, that’s basically more than a lease payment on an entry sedan and the insurance payment. If I add in a couple other convenience trips such as for groceries, that covers gas too. If I use Uber to get to the office 8 or 9 times, I can straight up buy a sedan. You let me know which part of the math is hyperbole.
