Not a lot of details but this sounds like a hopeful new avenue. Most stroke drugs today are targeted at blood clots, but as a side effect they increase the risk of bleeding and hemmorrhagic stroke. There aren't a lot of drugs that can treat the latter and reduce swelling, other than mannitol. Hopeful this research pans out in a few years.
