Old rubber midsoles definitely crumble - I personally had some 20-year-old trainers crumble while wearing them.
New plastic foam midsoles don’t crumble, but the glue that attaches them to the other parts of the shoe still does.
- WalterBright 6y agoI dug out some old ones of mine from the back of the closet. They definitely got brittle, and you can hear them crack and split when flexing it. Into the garbage :-)
