I took a class with a guy who was a subpar student, and he spent most of the lectures on LinkedIn and reached out to anyone and everyone. He had no shame and "fear of rejection" when it came to cold messaging. A few weeks to a month after the class ended, he got a job and was the first in our class to get one. It was for a Sales Engineer position, rather software engineering (which the rest of us were gearing up for), but based on his interests it seemed way more up his alley.
