Kind of off topic, but why is Matrix better than XMPP? Genuine question. Just curious.

- ezst 6y agoAs of today, XMPP has a more diverse ecosystem of clients and servers implementations, that makes it much more versatile and resilient. Matrix addresses the theoretically interesting issue of distributed chatrooms, which makes the protocol and its implementation very complex and inefficient… while not adding much in practice (that's only my opinion, but I think this self-inflicted complexity has done nothing but a disservice to Matrix)
