SDCC Small Device C Compiler 4.0.0 released
- souprock 6y agoWant to help? This would matter: SDCC still doesn't really support the EZ80 chip found in things like the TI-84 Plus CE calculator. You can generate code for the Z80 emulation mode, which only has a 16-bit address space. The EZ80, in native mode, has a 24-bit address space. There is an old proprietary compiler that people were using, and more recently there is a clang/llvm compiler. While it's great to have clang/llvm, it just feels wrong that SDCC can't fully support this little chip. Both existing compilers use 24-bit integers and pointers. As measured with sizeof, int is 3. There is no padding ever. There is an int24_t of course. Perhaps SDCC should get an int24_t that works for all platforms. It could be something like __sdcc_int24_t for platforms where it isn't the proper size for an int. Being able to change the size of an int, with a command line switch or pragma, would be useful.
