I find the most common source of Jira-hate is a combined refusal to leave many of its features on the table by management and general ignorance about how little Jira actually imposes on you by the gangpressed users.
Most of that bloat you have to deal with? Blame your bosses, not Atlassian.
- Nullabillity 6y agoJira is a bloated piece of garbage out of the box. It doesn't need PHB configuration to get there.
- servercobra 6y agoExactly. Brand new project, no configuration? Runs like trash. And then you add in all the manager/PM overhead.
- TameAntelope 6y agoNot my experience at all, have you used Jira in the last 5 years?
- Nullabillity 6y agoI have. New account, greenfield project, the org had never touched it before, and we only had a double-digit number of issues. Every page load still took 30+ seconds.
- TameAntelope 6y agoJira Cloud?
- Nullabillity 6y agoYup. About a year ago.
- TameAntelope 6y agoYeah, I think that was a widespread issue, fair enough.
- albedoa 6y agoWhy, is not using it recently the second most common source of Jira hate?
- httpsterio 6y agoI used Jira last year for a project at my work, set up a totally new environment and it ran like garbage. Each page load took seconds and every task required several page loads, often had to do a few extra because the UX was rather horrid and had to look for stuff.
