- JohnJamesRambo 6y agoI need to get this for my Uncle, he's a huge Star Trek fan and a machinist.

- quesera 6y agoI was hoping for the nuclear aircraft carrier. So much for my geek cred! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Enterprise_(CVN-65) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Enterprise_(CVN-65) TIL that CVN-65 was the second aircraft carrier of its name, and there will be a third in 2028. The first: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Enterprise_(CV-6) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Enterprise_(CV-6) The future third: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Enterprise_(CVN-80) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Enterprise_(CVN-80)
- Aeronwen 6y agohttps://haynes.com/en-gb/us-super-carrier-operations-manual https://haynes.com/en-gb/us-super-carrier-operations-manual Closest they have.
- quesera 6y agoThat's adequately awesome, thanks! I've bought Haynes manuals for several cars and motorcycles, but I had no idea they could be so cheeky.
- remarkEon 6y agoAlas, I expect CVN-80 to be the last of the aircraft carrier vessels of the US Navy, so it's fitting it should be called "Enterprise".
- throw0101a 6y agoThey're expecting to go to (at least) -82: * https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerald_R._Ford-class_aircraft_carrier#Ships_in_class https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerald_R._Ford-class_aircraft_...
- yuppie_scum 6y agoI have to dig up the TNG Technical Manual, that was amazing.
- tra3 6y agoI got the Starfleet Technical Manual. It's pretty sweet. Gotta figure out where it is.

- LeoPanthera 6y agoFun fact: The scene in Star Trek: Generations of (spoilers follow) the saucer section crash-landing on a planet was directly inspired by a section of the TNG technical manual which explained how the saucer section could make a controlled landing on a planet in an emergency situation.
- bdcravens 6y agoThey also have manuals for the X-Wing, Tie Fighter, and Millennium Falcon: https://haynes.com/en-gb/practical-lifestyle-manuals/sci-fi https://haynes.com/en-gb/practical-lifestyle-manuals/sci-fi
- LeoPanthera 6y agoIs this an ad? This book is far from new, and this post simply links to a place you can buy it.
- peteretep 6y agoHaynes — the linked site — are the publisher, and make real manuals like this for many many cars
- h2odragon 6y agoI don't think I'd buy a used one, anyway; this manual being available is nice but can you get the parts? I don't even want to think about the tax and license issues...
- soheil 6y agoThe warp drive on these tend to run into this issue where faster than speed of light travel becomes possible leading to all sorts of catastrophic failure events in the known universe. I'd get the slower model.
