I think the appeal in buying them is that you know what you're getting. You're getting the cheapest possible thing that can be legally labelled as such. Whereas with more expensive brands, at least for me, there's always a worry (and frequently, a strong suspicion) that you're just buying the exact same product but with an extra 200% markup.
