Ask HN: How did you discover HN?
I think it would be interesting to see how HN users discovered HN.
I remember to this day performing a google search more than 2 years ago and one of the results was an article on HN.
The quality of the posts I found here just struck me so I sticked with HN every since.
How about you? How did you discovered it? What's your story?

- michaeldhopkins 15y agoI came from Paul Graham's website which was linked in a 37signals article or comment.

- ricree 15y agoA blog post (one of Steve Yegge's, I think) linked to one of PG's articles, and I wound up reading through the archive. At some point, I followed a link from that site to HN.
- andymoe 15y agohttp://www.scripting.com http://www.scripting.com (1998/1999) -> http://philip.greenspun.com http://philip.greenspun.com (sql for web nerds) -> http://joelonsoftware.com http://joelonsoftware.com -> http://www.paulgraham.com http://www.paulgraham.com (A plan for spam 2002) -> news.ycombinator.com -> profit? Something like that. Before this the Joel on Software forum was what I checked daily.
- philh 15y agoI saw pg's announcement on reddit. I didn't actually stick around until later, though. I also filed an early bug report - you couldn't read comments without logging in. (I think I found reddit from pg's website, and again didn't stick around until later.)
- mooism2 15y agoPeople were talking about it on Reddit as being like Reddit used to be before it went downhill. Apparently this was about 2½ years ago.
