Economists aren’t doing climate science, they’re relying on IPCC models of what would happen. What you’re saying is “don’t trust economics experts to translate climate scientists’ projections into economic impact.” That’s silly.

  IPCC models are heavily biased towards downplaying the catastrophic changes already in progress, so as not to upset the status quo. They have repeatedly been shown to underpredict the actual changes occurring, and don't take into account the multiple overlapping positive feedback systems that are in play. In reality, we only have about 10-15 years before complete ecological collapse. Your neoliberal Chicago-school economists are doing nothing but providing a smokescreen so that the rich can continue to rape the planet for a few more years while the mass of humanity dies off along with the majority of other life. Question is, whats in it for you to repeat the lies of the ruling classes?

      Whats in it for me in a Marxist takeover is that my people have been kept down our entire lives to serve as disposable, replaceable, human capital for the sole benefit of the ruling classes, while watching Our Earth be raped and degraded for their pleasure and wealth. Now Our Earth is devastated and is crying out for relief. I have heard Her call as have many others and we are rising up as Her protectors to take the means of production from the ruling class and enforce sustainability, fuck the economy. This is the only way She can be saved. She has given this knowledge to us. How are you so twisted as to be ignoring Her pleas?

  I agree, they are not doing climate science. Instead, they are equating changes in global climate over time with differences in local climate in space and then extrapolating that "simplifying assumption" into absurd conclusions, such as that a 5 degree increase in the average temperature of the globe would only reduce global GDP by 5 percent.
