Interesting user query about bug reporting

Today I asked a coworker if he had any feedback for me about using a program that an old coworker had written because I had some extra time and wanted to improve the application for him if I could. I said, "If you could send me a list of bugs I would be glad to fix them." His response: "I would, but I don't know what they're called." "You don't know what they're called? What do you mean?" "The bugs! I don't know what types there are or anything." I realized what he meant and replied, "No, you don't have to use like specific names for them. You just use plain English to describe the problems you experience as a user. If you can tell me how to make the bug happen again, it's easier for me to figure out how to fix it." So I thought this would be an interesting topic to address. Thoughts?
