Ask HN: Are there any task managers / Kanban boards without comments?
Currently we're using Trello.
We keep loosing track of where we've left our feedback, it could be any one of.
- Trello card
- Trello comment
- Github PR
- Direct Memo
- WhatsApp message
It seems like every service these day's has to have the ability to leave comments.
We don't want this.
We want to have a single place for discussions and our task board isn't that place. So our there Trello like services that don't have the option of leaving comments.
- tirrellp 6y agoSeems like you're trying to solve a people problem with a technology solution. The simple solution is to set an agreement with the team to have a 'single source of truth' for comments. Continue to use your task manager of choice, but solve the 'human behavior challenge' with a human solution, (e.g., "Ok team, let's all agree to put any and all comments in <place x>")
- crowdhailer 6y agoPossibly true. We've tried instigating such a convention, but it requires explaining to every new person and every now and again someone in a hurry drops a comment in a place we don't want it.
- PaulHoule 6y agoWrite some bot that listens for comments and lights their wastepaper basket on fire when they do it.
