50 Cents Token – Experiment “Is Tether (USDT) a Scam?”
- emteycz 6y agoI don't see how this makes sense. Of course you can make your token rise, we've seen that with Bitcoin and Litecoin etc. That doesn't mean Tether is or is not backed by dollars. If you want to determine experimentally whether Tether is backed by dollars, buy a lot of Tethers and demand your dollars.
- twist4 6y agoIf our token will be cost $0.50 for a long time – it means, that Tether not control price of their token, only humans control price of USDT.
- emteycz 6y agoNope. As long as Tether keeps paying $1 for each Tether it's them keeping the price at $1, not human psychology. Maybe they don't have enough dollars for all Tethers, but your experiment won't uncover that.
- twist4 6y agoAnd what if 50Cents will be on $0.50 level without any control from our team?)
- emteycz 6y agoThen there's enough demand for 50Cents at 50 cents and no supply of cheaper tokens. But that says nothing about Tether, be it positive or negative. Tether makes infinite demand at $1, so it keeps there, it's not some magic (nor human psychology). Tether will crash when/if they stop buying Tethers for $1.
