This is so true. I was playing with Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) to create artworks a few weeks ago. It seemed like a fun side-project even if I'm not likely to get rich producing something. That died right about the time when it was going to cost me ~$135 in fees to mint the artwork[1]. While I followed through and completed the one artwork, most of the successful artworks are a series of collections. Minting those was prohibitively expensive at the time of writing.
