I didn't downvote. How would you land safely if the engine blew up and took out a wing?
- Pasorrijer 6y agoGood question... You wouldn't land safely. That's part of the reason the design of the engine is such that if there's a failure, the engine cowling is supposed contain all the debris so that there is no damage to the wing, airframe or associated systems.
- xwdv 6y agoOnly way to do it somewhat safely is with a whole aircraft parachute.
