Malcolm X family says letter shows NYPD and FBI conspired in his murder
- chordalkeyboard 6y agoCrashes when going into reader mode. The insufferable self-righteousness of journalism is justified when they expose truths like this but that justification is mooted when they “expose” “truths” by putting them on a disfunctional webpage.
- mark_l_watson 6y agoThere is nothing wrong with the web page. The Guardian, one of my favorite sources of news (NPR being another) has a solid web site, please try again. If it is true what the article says, I think that it is healthy for our country to get it out, clean the air, and try to learn to have more over site in the future. One of the shining moments for democracy in the USA was when McNamara admitted that he and President Johnson lied repeatedly to the US public about the Gulf of Tonkin episode to get us into the Vietnamese war. I hope that that was a learning experience for everyone to trust but verify what the government says.

It repeatedly crashed on my ipad, I’m a web consumer, if I can’t access content on a modern device, the webpage is in fact broken. > If it is true what the article says, I think that it is healthy for our country to get it out, clean the air, and try to learn to have more over site in the future. This is absolutely true, and indicates that journalists like the grauniad are negligent in putting important information on webshites. > One of the shining moments for democracy in the USA was when McNamara admitted that he and President Johnson lied repeatedly to the US public about the Gulf of Tonkin episode to get us into the Vietnamese war. - cjbenedikt 6y agoIt def. was not
- cjbenedikt 6y agoIndeed, website works perfectly well.
- tehwebguy 6y agoJournalists largely post to whatever website will pay them, and whoever pays them is more and more often a newspaper or org owned by private equity. Lots of people in between those doing the journalism and those deciding on dark patterns.
- anaisbetts 6y agoIf you know anything about the story of Fred Hampton this is absolutely zero surprise. He was full-on poisoned then assassinated in cold blood while unconscious by the FBI, in front of his pregnant girlfriend.
- baybal2 6y agoMy business law professor in Canada was one of attorneys for survivor families in Hampton case. He started as a criminal lawyer in Chicago, but had a very short career because he completely ruined his track record by often defending Panthers, and blacks in general, and predictably loosing every time. Had he have a choice to pick clients, he said he would've declined, but being a young lawyer he had to put bread on the table somehow. First, he said made it for money, but then he got a near personal enmity with the judge, and continued just for the sake of inflicting just one defeat on them. It was around late seventies when he noticed judges casually smoking with prosecutors in between court brakes. And then he decided to move to Canada, and continue his career there as a contract lawyer, and in civil litigation.
- dagmx 6y agoRecently watched `Judas and The Black Messiah` which is a movie on the assasination of Fred Hampton. Highly recommend people check it out. Great performances about pivotal members of civil rights history. As an immigrant to America, I never hear people mention Fred along with MLK/MX even though he and the Black Panthers were such big features. I think this is largely due to the public imagery around the Panthers. Also not to keep things in media about important people, but I recommend people listen to any Rage Against The Machine tracks to highlight pieces of American history that may be glossed over and exposed in a really raw and accessible way. From Wake Up... >What was the price on his head!? I think I heard a shot > [He] may be a brave contender for this position, But should he abandon his supposed 'obedience', To the 'White liberal doctrine' of non-violence And embrace Black Nationalism" Through counter-intelligence, it should be possible To pinpoint potential troublemakers and neutralize them
