More like an example of short-sightedness. Sure mechanical spring is better but having digital interface allows for complex dryer timing logic and optimisations.
- tzs 6y agoIf someone decides to make a dryer with complex logic and optimizations then digital would be the better solution for the consumer. The author was talking about dryers that had no functionality beyond what the ones with the mechanical timers had. They were digital just because that was more interesting to the dryer engineer.
- Jommi 6y agoYet we never would move up to dryers with amazing QoL improvements if we first didnt move up to digital dryers instead of mechanical timers. Thats what I imply here.
