Technology is just a tool like a spoon. It is uninteresting and boring on its own account. As an engineer what you can achieve, what you produce should excite you, what you produce, something that is useful and used. Something important. The product. Technology is just an aspect to achoeve it. One of many. It can be exciting, it can be boring, but the ultimate excitement is the creation of something useful, not using a tool... If the tool has the focus that is more like entertainment. Not engineering. Use whatever you need, boring or exciting alike! Let the task and the product excite you, not the tools.
