I agree 100%, but you also need to know which tech is going to get mainstream later on. Nobody wants to use tech which was once exciting, and now deprecated. I took several bets with frameworks, libraries, databases and even languages during my career. Most of them worked out great. Only one time I needed to rewrite stuff because some library got deprecated. Overall it was well worth it.
