Scanning Frustration
- theamk 6y agoMy solution for that was a second-hand network-based “all in one” device. Those are cheap-ish consumer devices which do not need drivers at all - they can scan directly into JPEG / PDF, and place the result on usb stick, email or google drive. There are no advanced scanning control, but I think it’s worth it because there is no need to worry about scanner drivers, ever. And if you look around, you can find them for cheap or even for free: Some people buy them, and a few months later, when people discover how much ink cartridges cost and how quickly they dry out if not used regularly, those devices go to attic or trash. That’s when you can get them, even if printer is bad, scanner is likely still ok.
