IMHO every really useful-and-not-harming work happens thanks to a small group of workers (where a little bit of 'conflict', let's say disagreement about a given subject, is often useful because it creates emulation). A major promise of the Internet may be to alleviate the need for such a group members to be in the same place at the same time.
