One major benefit of running webapps in an actual browser like Firefox, instead of Electron, is that I can have uBlock and a handful of other defensive plugins, to prevent shady things happening behind my back.
- ruined 6y agobut, conversely, browsers tend to have access to a lot of ident/auth goods that a standalone electron wouldn't, even if you're using containers. also it's perhaps harder to phish someone running an electron app because outside webpages open a real browser.
