Ask HN: What happens to job market if companies adopt ‘no jab, no job’ stance?

- allears 6y agoMany employers and organizations require inoculations to be up to date. This is to protect others in the organization. It's like international travel, you have to have your shots first.
- elmerfud 6y agoHaving done a significant amount of international travel, while there are many recommended vaccines to have, the only vaccination I've been required to have is for yellow fever. That's only been required if you're coming from a country with known yellow fever outbreaks. Additionally, I've never been asked to show my yellow card.
- chrisbennet 6y agoOnly people who don't wear tin foil hats would be employed I guess.
- dyingkneepad 6y agoFrom the comments I'm assuming "jab" means "covid vaccine" is that correct? If that's the case, I think it's a reasonable thing to do: the company has the duty to protect its employees from infected people.
- Spooky23 6y agoNot much.
- guilhas 6y agoMore startups. Authoritarian companies seems like a bad concept. "Here is the Employee Handbook, and the 5 mandatory vaccines from our best business partners."
- cercatrova 6y agoThat sounds fine to me.
