Florida outperformed lockdown states on excess deaths, education, and economy
- chrispeel 6y agoLooks to me like FL did worse than CA in terms of total deaths [1]. I think a better case could be made about Utah, yet I suspect their good CFR is due to differences in reporting COVID deaths. - ratsmack 6y agoFrom here, it shows that CA is double FL on per capita deaths. (you have to set the states in the widget) https://www.bing.com/search?q=per+capita+covid+deaths&FORM=AWRE https://www.bing.com/search?q=per+capita+covid+deaths&FORM=A... Also, the average age in FL is 42 vs CA at 36. Here's another one that's completely different. https://boogheta.github.io/coronavirus-countries/#country=USA&deceased&ratio&places=California,Florida,New%20York&alignTo=deceased https://boogheta.github.io/coronavirus-countries/#country=US...
- floxy 6y agoHere's another site to look at death rates of all the states: https://www.statista.com/statistics/1109011/coronavirus-covid19-death-rates-us-by-state/ https://www.statista.com/statistics/1109011/coronavirus-covi... ...interesting to compare the various U.S. states to different countries: https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/data/mortality https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/data/mortality ...seems like the mortality rate should be one of the more consistent measures between jurisdictions.
