A lot of people say if you want to get a job you have to start solving problems on leetcode. My question is that leetcode is great for someone who wants to crack the interview but does leetcode really helps you become a better problem solver compared to someone who has worked on multiple side projects involving different technologies? assuming the person does have the knowledge of Data Structures and Algos.
I'm just curious to know
- runawaybottle 6y agoYou are asking the wrong question. It’s a supply and demand issue. The number of people going into Comp Sci is higher than it’s ever been, and you have an entire global economy willing to also work remotely/cheaper. You also have an entire group of non-stem majors switching over to tech to find careers. Supply has simply outstripped demand. In other words, who cares if Leetcode means you are good or not, there’s too many of you in general at this point, so you’ll have to do whatever it takes to get the job. I would not advise a younger person to go into Software now days due to this simple reason.
