I had a group of college friends who started taking heroin in the 90’s who thought like this. It upset me and I told them so. At the time they said I was “being uptight.” We fell out over their heroin use. About a year later, one of these former friends died from an overdose. He was a generous person with a great future ahead of him. He’s been dead 25 years now. When I think about it now, it still saddens me. He missed so much.
