As a fellow remote worker I can attest to many of the downsides that the author is pointing out. Perhaps the thing I miss out most are the coffee breaks. (Some might think that these serve only a social role, but many technical decisions are actually discussed and influenced at these informal meetings.) In fact, the more time goes by, the more I think that the main selling point of various coworking spaces might be just this: remote work but with coffee breaks.
