Well, on the bright side, we've already skipped the pre-pandemic World War...
- swyx 6y agoarguably that was iraq/afghanistan, but yeah much smaller scale than ww1
- diggernet 6y agoJust as our pandemic is much smaller scale. On the whole, if this is a parallel, I'd rather be here than in the last go-round. Let's hope that pattern holds.
- notsureaboutpg 6y agoHistory doesn't have to repeat itself though. We could learn from our mistakes. The War in Afghanistan/Iraq (and now Yemen) was not inevitable at all and could have been easily avoided.
