How do you move a 401k to a self-directed account? Can you do it without quiting your job?
My single biggest gripe with my 401k--a very poor selection of high cost managed funds.
- hammock 15y agoIt may depend on your company and how they set up their 401k. For me it was relatively easy, I just told my company that I want to self-direct the funds - it was an option they gave me if I set up a brokerage account with the 401K's bank
- lsc 15y agoswitch jobs, roll your 401K over into an IRA that you can manage yourself.
