Does anyone else think Groupon has been a huge boost to the economy? They've created 7000 jobs in a few years, without displacing many old ones, and most of these jobs are low-skill.

- brandong 15y agoI wouldn't quite say adding 7000 is a "huge boost" to the economy.
- cosgroveb 15y agoMost of these jobs are low skill? My understanding is that the majority of the people at Groupon are in the sales force. Just because it doesn't require a degree in CS or EE doesn't make a position low-skill. Being an effective salesperson takes a lot of skill.
