Admitting these things is the first step towards changing, and often the most important, so well done :)
Sure, it's hard to get over the long-distance barrier, to communicate, and to see the effect of what we're doing
But leaving the barrier up is like sailing without wind. As in doldrums. Is that what you're feeling?
Maybe go for a run and agree with yourself to afterwards send a written work message, or ping a colleague just saying "Hey, how's it going?"
Just make any crack at the barrier infront of you. What is the smallest chip you can start to make?
