posting elon musk giveaway scam
the scammers targeting these obscure verified athlete accounts that have few followers, back in 2009-2014 when almost anyone could be verified with little effort as long as there was at least a single media mention, so to meet this criteria one could use a PR service. This lead to thousands of nobodies' with few followers being verified. Nowadays even The Lincoln Project cannot get verified. What a joke.
- mtmail 6y ago9th Twitter scam report in 14 days, and third in the last 24h. I understand the concern but posting essentially the same every day hasn't worked so far and I'm pessimistic it will in the future.
- hamiltonians 6y agoIt takes me 5 minutes to find the accounts and write the report, and even if it does not work, it boosts the odds of action being taken nevertheless. So I think it's worth it. I am also hoping for more information about how the accounts are being obtained before I write a more comprehensive report.
