Theory: the people who thought this was spam have never done any GPU programming. Normal programming often can be kind of "figured out" piecemeal, most often even complex APIs can be figured out with a small introduction and some examples. Graphics is much more conceptually heavy. If you don't know the basics, you will be flailing. IMO that makes posting a link to a basic tutorial a very good thing when it's clear the user is flailing. Even if they get this one thing working, it's not reallyhelpong if they still don't "get it".
