With something that small, a not-so-insignificant number of people will end up washing it in their washing machines. Speaking from personal experience, as I have ended up washing several notes of money, coins and one pendrive. Plus, it just seems unecessary. Another comment here explained more eloquently than I did with their concept of "diminishing returns."
