I remember there was a very wealthy player on Asheron's Call Frostfell who paid players to feed his XP chain, bought all of the rarest items such as nexus armour etc etc. There was a huge botting scene that sort of ruined the game but forced me to learn C++ and made me a bit of money as a teenager selling accounts.
