From my experience, MDF and particleboard furniture usually weighs more due to the higher density of the wood and glue vs. traditional wood furniture.
- saiya-jin 6y agoNah, wooden stuff usually has thicker walls/everything, usually weighting significantly more. I guess we compare some old wooden furniture with similarly designed ikea particle board one. If its 1:1 then yes particle board should weight a bit more.
- souprock 6y agoWell, let's do this right. Make plywood with the middle being balsa, and the surface being lignum vitae.
