If I was asked for that kind of info I'd hang up the phone. Recruiters (in the UK here) may ask what you're currently getting paid, but you'll never be asked to prove it. That's when you inflate the number to what you expect, or something in line with the market, taking some care not to be completely ridiculous about it. A good recruiter will try and negotiate up on your behalf, especially if their agency's fee and their commission is based on a percentage.
