Just as data point... I loved the time I spent at university, and still think that was the pinnacle of my life.
And while I don't love the time at school before, I clearly remember it and it's a million times better that the adult life.
The worst of my problems were if there was a "surprise oral exam" or something like that.
But I had friends, and free time to spent, and energy, and loooooong summers.
There is a reason most of the best sellers (books, movies) are teen/youg adult stuff... adults DO NOT HAVE THE TIME to read, or enjoy plays.
- qznc 6y agoI increasingly enjoyed my education because I got increasingly more choice. During school, I was so happy once I got to remove Latin from my curriculum. Later the poetry analysis stuff disappeared. At university it got reduced to a broad field like computer science but it still contains a lot of stuff I never used afterwards. In the second half, I could mostly focus on topics which really interested me. During the PhD it was nearly complete freedom. What I did like about school was all the extra-curriculum stuff. I learned to act on stage and in a movie, produced a comic, and more. That happen inside the school building, so it was "school" and it didn't suck.
