School definitely sucked for me but in retrospect it was primarily due to buses doing two routes and landing in the unfortunate position that I had to arrive in the school 60-90 minutes early every morning and wait around the school after 60 minutes most evenings. Secondary school was just 5 years of being constantly exhausted. Blows my mind that whoever was planning it thought that was better than stumping up the cash for a second bus run (this was mid-00s in a country that was supposedly booming). It's kind of impossible to gauge it beyond that. I guess the inflexibility of the structure ties in there though, like, if something about it is bad you don't necessarily have that much choice to change it and it will grind you down hugely.
