Probably depends on personality. As an introvert with a little above average neuroticism I viscerally despised returning to school after a long holiday break from K to 12 without exception. Zero excitement or longing to return. I had good friends, too. I would have much preferred just staying at home and playing video games, getting my social interaction online and keeping in touch with a select few people of my choosing rather than forced interactions with 300 people. Whether this would've been better for my health is another question.
