This is a terrible take on SSC, but even weirder is the attempt to connect it to big tech. The narrative aspects of this seem pulled out of thin air and the quotes appear to be wildly out of date, appearing to be from before SSC went down. Given NYT’s and presumably this author‘s part of the story, the presentation here crosses the line all the way to either intentionally or negligently disingenuous. Like other commenters here, I hope now that Trump’s out of office, it becomes less taboo on the left to talk about how poor a job mainstream media does.
