The attacks against attempts to outlaw gas stoves do not come from some corporate plot (as suggested by the article) but from consumers of the products involved who know that electric ranges suck, induction is adequate for some things but has slow response and does not work for certain pans; gas is superior for the range/hob. For the actual oven electric is better, but if you are getting a unit with range/oven combined it is better to go for gas on both than electric on both.
