Corporations put a lot of effort into avoiding leaks of their source code. Compared to the amount of AAA game projects, actual leaks happen rarely. I can see "competitors" smelling value in buying source code of a project that generated a lot of profit. I agree with you that the actual value is not that high, but I can nonetheless imagine people willing to pay a lot for it.
