I would've thought that the widget/tile implementation technology would be Silverlight, not HTML5/Javascript. Didn't we also see a playing down of Silverlight

I would've thought that the widget/tile implementation technology would be Silverlight, not HTML5/Javascript. Didn't we also see a playing down of Silverlight at MIX11? Has Silverlight fallen out of favor?

- malnourish 15y agoNetflix still uses Silverlight, correct?
- aberkowitz 15y agoNetflix uses Silverlight because it supports DRM.
- stonemetal 15y agoIt is the only way to get an app on their phone that doesn't use their game development APIs. So it might be dead on the web, but it isn't dead yet.
