I love this. And yes, parenting is a total mystery. One thing I found to be true for me personally (not trying to imply universal truth here), is that so many instincts just take over. Was never one to think I'd be ready for kids (who is?), but here we are and my partner and I are somehow managing. It's exhausting, but I love it so far. There is nothing quite like joining the imaginary world of a young child in their endless creativity.
