A way that I handle this, particularly on Twitter, is I have a couple people that I think do a good job of curating other people's content and retweeting it.
So I just go directly to their page, and I check in often enough that I know when I'm to things I have already seen.
I've fallen into the scrolling pages and pages on YouTube, and it is far less satisfying than when I used to just binge watch channels as I learned about them.
